When we first started Fametastic way back in July 2005, Kim Kardashian’s biggest claim to fame was that she partied with Paris Hilton - and La Hilton wasn’t (in)famous as she is now so Kim was a hanger-on of someone not really worth hanging on. But now she, Kim, seems to be suddenly the it girl du jour: she’s the star of a reality TV show, on the cover of Playboy without having to get everything out and her bum is the talk of the blogosphere.
I know there was a sex tape this year and her bum is pretty discussion worthy but how did we go from one state of affairs to the other? To be fair, she is a pleasant change from the usual blonde size-zero skeleton clones rattling about the place but is that enough to warrant the increase in her celebrity status? She seems to have leapt about ten steps up the socialite-to-celeb staircase over the last few months. Is her bum really that awesome?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this because I’m really at a loss.
